Somavati Amavasya 2024: Remedies for a Happy Married Life and Worship Rituals

The last Somavati Amavasya of 2024 will occur on December 30. On this day, people take a sacred bath in rivers and offer prayers to their ancestors, gods, and sages, believing it helps clear debts. It is also a special day for worshipping and fasting in honor of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

Couples facing frequent arguments or disharmony at home can follow certain remedies on Somavati Amavasya to improve their relationship. By receiving the blessings of Shiva and Parvati, they can bring joy and peace into their married life. Astrologer Chakrapani Bhatt from Kashi suggests some remedies for a happy marriage on this day.

Remedies for a Happy Married Life on Somavati Amavasya 2024:

1. If there are conflicts between spouses, both should fast together on Somavati Amavasya. Start the day with a bath and worship Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati as per tradition. Offer Shiva items like bel leaves, bhang, datura, akshat, honey, flowers, a garland, and Ganga water. For Goddess Parvati, offer yellow sindoor, new clothing, flowers, a garland, and akshat. This is believed to bring joy to married life.
2. To increase happiness in marriage, observe a fast and worship Shiva and Shakti. Offer a bridal set with 16 makeup items, along with a red chunari or saree to Goddess Parvati. This blessing is said to bring happiness in marriage.
3. Both partners should recite the Shiva mantra together during worship. Shiva’s blessings will ensure a happy married life. You can also recite Kamadeva’s mantra to make the relationship stronger and more loving.
