Currently, the municipal corporation has collected an amount of Rs 840 crores in property taxes. However, PCMC has also taken action against defaulters by auctioning their properties, including property confiscation, publication of names of the defaulters in newspapers, and water disconnection. Nilesh Deshmukh, Assistant Commissioner, PCMC said that due to the strict action taken against the defaulters they are recovering property taxes approximately worth Rs 5 crores daily.
