A woman from Thane has filed a police complaint alleging that two men, who claimed to be YouTube reporters, drugged her with a cake and sexually assaulted her last year. The complaint was registered on December 5 at Thane Nagar Police Station—almost 16 months after the incident—after the survivor said she could no longer tolerate the threats she continued to receive.

Incident Took Place Inside Thane Family Court Premises

According to police, the incident occurred on August 25 last year at the Thane Family Court. The woman said the accused offered her a piece of cake laced with an intoxicating substance. After she started feeling dizzy, they allegedly took her to a parked car on the premises and raped her.

The survivor, who works at a massage centre, said she had not informed anyone for months due to fear and shame. She also alleged that the men continued to blackmail and threaten her to remain silent.

Accused Identified; One Arrested

Police have identified the accused as Hiralal Kedar (55) and Ravi Pawar (40).

  • Kedar has been arrested.
  • Pawar is on the run.

Officials added that both men already have extortion cases registered against them.

The woman approached the police after one of the accused recently contacted her again and allegedly demanded sexual favours. A case of gang rape has been registered, and a search is underway to trace the absconding accused.
