Recently, an Australian woman and podcaster called Indians the “toughest and chillest people” in the world after an Uber driver drove her to Mumbai Airport on waterlogged roads.

The woman, who was a tourist in Mumbai, was stunned after seeing the roads filled with water.

Bree Steele, an Australian podcaster and content creator was both amused and impressed by Indians after this incident.

She took to Instagram to share about her experience and what happened when she was on her way to the airport. The video, which was uploaded two days ago, has gone viral on social media.

Further sharing about her ride, she said that she had to leave for the airport at 3 am, so when her Uber driver saw the roads filled with water, he just drove through it. This entire experience seemed shocking and surprising for Steele.

“The water was up to here,” said Bree indicating almost chest-level depth of the water. Her Uber driver just went through it, murmuring a casual “Koi baat nahin” (It’s alright). Bree sat in the backseat of the cab as water splashed inside the vehicle, drenching her.

The Australian woman entered Mumbai Airport, soaked but Mumbaikars were nonchalant about the situation. It was just another rainy day at Aamchi Mumbai.

“My Uber driver just went through literal flood waters,” gasped the podcaster in the video.

Bree even wondered if it is genuinely safe to drive on severely flooded roads.

The video shows large amounts of water surpassing apartment gates and leaving people stranded on the roads.

Almost shocked and surprised at her driver for being able to navigate the vehicle through the heavy showers, Bree said, “This can only happen in India”.

She commended people for waiting at major junctions and guiding commuters through traffic and flood waters. While sobbing about leaving Mumbai, she concluded saying that she’ll be back soon in the city.
