Mumbai Police Issues New Year’s Eve Traffic Advisory
To manage the New Year 2025 celebrations, Mumbai Police has introduced traffic regulations in south Mumbai to ensure smooth traffic flow and pedestrian safety. These rules will be in effect from 3 PM on December 31, 2024, to 6 AM on January 1, 2025. They include:
- No parking on certain roads
- Road closures in specific areas
- Designated parking zones
Emergency vehicles, like ambulances and fire brigade trucks, are not affected by these restrictions.
The police have encouraged the public to use local trains and other public transport as parking will not be available in the Colaba and Marine Drive areas. However, the Mumbai Coastal Road will stay open for vehicles from 11 PM on December 31 to 11 PM on January 1.
