The individual, identified as Ranjeet Chaurasia, a resident of Nyotani village in the Unnao district, recorded the act to the tune of dramatic music from the Bollywood movie Baadshah. The video quickly went viral across various platforms, drawing public criticism and raising concerns about the growing trend of dangerous stunts for online content.
In the video, Chaurasia is seen lying on his stomach while a train moves overhead. He appears to be holding a mobile phone during the incident. Although some social media users questioned the authenticity of the footage, authorities confirmed that the incident took place and initiated legal proceedings.
Following the video’s circulation, the GRP launched an investigation and swiftly arrested the accused. “We registered a case immediately after the video came to our attention. The man was identified, arrested, and sent to jail. Misuse of railway tracks for stunts is a serious offence and will be dealt with strictly,” an official said.
Chaurasia has been charged with obstructing railway operations and endangering public safety. Although he deleted the original reel from his Instagram account, it had already been widely reshared across platforms by that time.
Authorities have urged the public to avoid such reckless behavior and warned that anyone found using railway property for stunts or viral videos will face strict legal consequences.
