Vande Bharat Express Expands Food Options with Onboard Vendor Trolleys
Passengers on the Vande Bharat Express now have more food options during their journey. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has introduced vendor trolleys on the Gorakhpur–Ayodhya–Lucknow–Prayagraj route, selling chips, biscuits, cold drinks, and other packaged snacks. This is in addition to the regular pre-booked meals. The Railway Board approved this new service to make travel more comfortable and convenient.
More Food Choices on All Vande Bharat Trains
Earlier, passengers had to pre-book their meals when buying tickets. Those who didn’t pre-book were limited to tea, coffee, or instant snacks. Now, IRCTC is expanding the packaged food service to all Vande Bharat trains across the country, giving more options to travelers.
New Policy for Buying Food Onboard
The Railway Board has introduced a new rule allowing passengers to buy food during the journey, even if they didn’t pre-book. A notice sent to IRCTC confirms that this policy aims to provide more choices and better catering for everyone. Now, IRCTC can sell food to all passengers, making travel on Vande Bharat trains more comfortable and convenient.
