Veronika Didusenko, founder of the Right To Be A Mother NGO and a student at Columbia University, spoke out against discrimination in beauty pageants based on women’s family status and pregnancy.

She addressed these issues at a panel discussion hosted by Columbia Global Centers – Mumbai on International Women’s Day. Didusenko emphasized the need for Miss World, Miss International, and Miss Earth to adapt to modern times and embrace inclusivity.

Her advocacy began in 2018 when she was disqualified as Miss Ukraine for being a mother. She has since led efforts for change, resulting in Miss Universe lifting restrictions on young mothers. Now, she’s pushing for similar changes in Miss World.
