Delays in infrastructure projects have become common in Mumbai, but a recent incident from Vikhroli has raised serious safety concerns. A viral video shows schoolgirls risking their lives while crossing a closed and damaged Foot Over Bridge (FOB) that is currently under repair.

The footage shows the bridge in poor condition, with barricades placed to stop people from using it. However, the girls are seen bypassing these barriers and climbing down unsafe parts of the bridge. In one disturbing moment, a schoolgirl is seen holding the outer railing while trying to cross.

The danger is made worse by the heavy traffic moving on the busy road below the bridge. The video was first shared on Instagram by the page ‘Vikhrolikar’ and quickly gained attention on social media.

Following the video, several users questioned the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) over delays in completing the repair work. One user pointed out that the FOB near Praveen Hotel on the Eastern Express Highway has become extremely unsafe, putting the lives of schoolchildren and commuters at risk.

Another user said the incomplete bridge has created serious safety issues for local residents, especially children, who are being forced to take dangerous routes due to the unfinished work.
