Virat Kohli is no stranger to the intense attention of his fans. While he often speaks about valuing privacy and enjoys the peace he finds abroad, the cricket star regularly faces fan frenzy in India. Recently, in Mumbai, he was again surrounded by eager fans.

During a trip to Alibaug, Kohli seemed to lose patience. A video on social media shows him expressing frustration when fans crowded around him for selfies, blocking his way. Trying to board a ferry, Kohli told the fans, “Bhai, mera raasta mat roko” (Brothers, don’t block my way) and gently moved one person aside. Kohli and his wife, actress Anushka Sharma, recently bought a villa in Alibaug and are reportedly hosting a housewarming party there this Thursday.

The video has gone viral, sparking mixed reactions. Some criticized Kohli’s behavior, saying he should handle such situations better as a public figure. One user commented, “If you want privacy, avoid public places. Stardom comes from the public; don’t forget that.” Another criticized the fans, saying, “Why do people chase celebrities like beggars? Where’s the self-respect? India will progress when people stop obsessing over stars.”

Meanwhile, there is talk about Kohli possibly returning to domestic cricket, especially the Ranji Trophy, to regain form in red-ball cricket before India’s Test series in June. The Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) has included him in a list of potential players, but his participation is still uncertain.
