Indian cricket star Virat Kohli has achieved another remarkable milestone, becoming the first Indian cricketer to reach 12,000 runs in the T20 format. Kohli accomplished this feat during the opening match of IPL 2024 between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Joining the esteemed ranks of T20 legends like Chris Gayle, Shoaib Malik, Kieron Pollard, Alex Hales, and David Warner, Kohli’s achievement solidifies his position as one of the game’s top players.

The historic moment occurred in the seventh over of the CSK vs RCB match when Kohli skillfully guided a delivery from Ravindra Jadeja for a single, reaching his 12,000th run in T20 cricket.

Throughout his T20 career, Virat Kohli has showcased his batting prowess, tallying an impressive eight centuries and 91 fifties. His dominance in the IPL is unmatched, holding the record for the highest runs in the tournament’s history. With 7,284 runs in 239 matches, including seven centuries and 50 fifties, Kohli continues to set new standards in the league.

In addition to his 12,000-run milestone, Kohli achieved another landmark in the match against CSK by surpassing 1,000 runs against the franchise. With 1,006 runs in 32 matches, Kohli’s outstanding performances against CSK further underscore his batting excellence.
