Water Supply Disruptions to Impact These Areas in Mumbai

This disruption is scheduled to begin at 11:30 am on 24th May and end at 11:30 am on 25th May, according to a report by Mid-Day.

On 21st May, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) declared a temporary interruption in water supply lasting 24 hours in select areas of Mumbai’s eastern suburbs such as Ghatkopar, Bhandup and Mulund. This disruption is scheduled to begin at 11:30 am on 24th May and end at 11:30 am on 25th May, according to a report by Mid-Day.

According to reports, areas within N Ward, S Ward and T Ward of Mumbai will experience impacts as a result of efforts to reroute a preexisting 1,200 mm diameter water pipeline along Mulund Goregaon Link Road (GMLR).

The segment in question, extending from Fortis Hospital to Udyog Shetra in Mulund (West), T Ward, requires diversion as it is presently conflicting with the base of the GMLR flyover.

The BMC notification stated, “The BMC has also advised residents to store sufficient water for the duration of the shutdown and to use water cautiously. As a precautionary measure, citizens are urged to boil and filter water for the next four to five days after the supply is restored to ensure safety.”

N Ward:

Affected Areas: Vikhroli Village (East), Godrej Properties, Godrej Hospital

Regular Water Supply Hours: 3:30 pm to 11:30 am

Impact: Water supply will be halted on 25th May

S Ward:

Affected Areas: Nahur (East), Bhandup (East), Kanjur (East), Tagore Nagar, Kannamwar Nagar (Vikhroli East, buildings 1 to 32 and 203 to 217)

Regular Water Supply Hours: 3:30 am to 11:30 am

Impact: Water supply will be discontinued on 25th May

S Ward:
