As the deadline approaches for Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employees to return to office, the company’s stance on in-person work has grown more stringent. TCS emphasizes the importance of traditional office setups, citing the benefits of face-to-face collaboration and workplace culture.

TCS CEO K Krithivasan emphasized, “We Are Not For Work From Home,” expressing the belief that remote or hybrid work models hinder individual and organizational growth. Krithivasan stressed the value of collaboration and camaraderie, which he believes cannot be achieved through online mediums.

Known for its strict work environment, TCS maintains that physical presence in the office is essential. Employees who have yet to return face consequences for not complying with the mandated policy. Chief Operating Officer NG Subramaniam reiterated TCS’s commitment to workplace presence, citing security concerns and the need for a cohesive work environment.

TCS aims to address potential vulnerabilities associated with remote work, such as cybersecurity risks, by reinstating an office-centric culture. The deadline extension until the end of March serves as a final call for employees to transition back to the office. Failure to comply will result in severe consequences, reflecting TCS’s commitment to traditional work norms.

By resuming in-office operations, TCS hopes to encourage employee interaction, promote organizational development, and facilitate a smooth transition from the hybrid work model necessitated by the pandemic.
