Woman Jumps Out of Auto Rickshaw to Escape Harassment in Mumbai

In a shocking incident in Mumbai, a young woman was forced to jump from a moving shared rickshaw to escape an attempted molestation by a fellow passenger. The incident, which left the woman with minor injuries, occurred in the Borivali area.
According to reports, the 29-year-old woman boarded a shared rickshaw from Poisar in Borivali West, heading towards the railway station. Another passenger was already seated in the rickshaw. As they proceeded towards Borivali railway station, the woman realised that the man seated next to her was trying to touch her inappropriately. Despite her attempts to ignore his advances, the man persisted.
The woman informed the rickshaw driver of the man’s behaviour, but her complaint was disregarded. In desperation, she asked the driver to stop the vehicle, but he refused. Left with no other option, she raised an alarm for help and eventually jumped from the moving rickshaw to protect herself, resulting in minor injuries.
Hearing her cries, a police officer present at the scene immediately intervened, stopping the rickshaw and conducting an inquiry. Following the incident, the Borivali police were informed, and after reviewing CCTV footage, two individuals were arrested on charges of misconduct and molestation, including the fellow passenger and the rickshaw driver.
