Weather Update: Thane & Raigad To Witness Light Rainfall Today – Met
The Met has issued a warning for ‘light rainfall/thundershower’ in Thane and Raigad on February 29 due to moisture buildup. However, experts believe that if this activity occurs, it will be quite sporadic.
In an official statement, the weather department said, “A western disturbance as a cyclonic circulation lies over northwest Iran and neighbourhood to lower to upper tropospheric levels. High moisture feeding from Arabian Sea to northwest India is also likely. Under its influence, thundershowers/ light rain is very likely in some parts.”
On February 28, hot weather conditions persisted in Mumbai. The highest temperatures recorded on February 28 in Colaba and Santacruz were 32 and 34.8 degrees Celsius, respectively. The night temperature in the city remained high, with the two observatories recording minimums of 22.8 and 20.6 degrees Celsius, respectively.
