Train Cancellations and Changes On Mumbai-Pune Railway Route Due To Maintenance Work
From May 28 to June 2, several trains on the Mumbai-Pune railway route will be cancelled or rescheduled due to platform expansion work at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminal (CSMT). According to the Hindustan Times, platforms 10 and 11 are undergoing maintenance, affecting many trains.
The final stop for some trains will change to Dadar. The Pragati Express and Deccan Express are among the trains that will be cancelled. This platform work will last nearly two weeks, causing major disruptions for passengers travelling between Pune and Mumbai.
List of Canceled Trains:
- Pragati Express: Canceled from May 28 to June 2.
- Pune Mumbai Intercity Express: Canceled from May 31 to June 2.
- Deccan Express, Deccan Queen Express, and Kurla-Margaon-Kurla: Canceled on June 1 and June 2.
On May 22, maintenance work also affected trains between Byculla and CSMT. Suburban train services were shut down from 12:30 AM to 4:30 AM, causing some trains to start or end at Panvel and Dadar stations.
Summer Special Trains:
To help with the increased travel demand during summer, Central Railways has introduced sixteen additional weekly special train services between Mumbai and Karimnagar.
- CSMT-Karimnagar Weekly Special (01067): Departs CSMT Mumbai at 3:30 PM every Tuesday from April 9 to May 28, arriving in Karimnagar the next day at 8:30 AM.
