Navi Mumbai civic body demolishes 41 illegal pubs, hotel and bars
23 hotels/bars in Belapur, 6 in Nerul, 3 in Vashi, 1 in Koparkhairane, 5 in Ghansoli and 3 in Airoli were demolished.

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has initiated a drive to demolish illegal structures in the city. Therefore, under the guidance of NMMC Commissioner Dr Kailas Shinde, the officials conducted raids on the unauthorized and extended construction of hotels/ bars and restaurants/ ladies bars/ pubs/ lodges/ hookah parlours on the intervening night of June 30 and July 1.
During this drive, 41 unauthorized hotels, bars and pubs were demolished where hundreds of personnel were involved. Meanwhile, 98 paan stalls have been sealed within a radius of 100 meters from schools.
As per reports, of the total, maximum demolitions took place in Belapur. Action was taken against a total of 23 hotels/bars in Belapur, 6 in Nerul, 3 in Vashi, 1 in Koparkhairane, 5 in Ghansoli and 3 in Airoli.
