Mumbai lake levels see highest single-day rise this season; Details here
IMD has predicted light to moderate rains in the city throughout till July 10

As overnight moderate to heavy rains lashed Mumbai and its suburbs since Saturday night, the water levels in all the lakes that supply water to the city have recorded a rise of 4.21 per cent in the past 24 hours.
This is the highest single-day jump in the water stock of the lake levels this season.
As of 6 am on Monday, July 8, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) data, the collective lake levels or water stock in the seven reservoirs that supply drinking water to Mumbai is now at 2,71,147 million liters of water or 18.73 per cent.

Last year on July 8, the water stock in the lakes stood at 21.57 per cent, while in 2022 the stock stood at 25.94 per cent.
Meanwhile, on Sunday morning, July 7, the water stock in the lakes stood at 14.52 per cent, as against Saturday’s 10.8 per cent. Last year on July 7, the water stock in the lakes stood at 18.76 per cent, while in 2022 the stock stood at 19.08 per cent.
Bifurcating further, the data shared by the civic body stated that the water level in Tansa is at 40.69 per cent. At Modak-Sagar, 35.85 per cent of water stock is available. In Middle Vaitarna 19.51 per cent, Upper Vaitarna 0 per cent, Bhatsa 16.13 per cent, Vehar 31.74 per cent and Tulsi 45.51 per cent of useful water level is available.
Civic officials said that every 1 per cent of water stock accounts for every three days of water usage in Mumbai.
The rainfall recorded in Mumbai during the 22-hour period from 8 am yesterday (7 July 2024) to 6 am today (8 July 2024), as per the BMC, are as follows:

Even though Mumbai hasn’t been kept under any rain alert, IMD’s five-day forecast says that a light to moderate spell of rains will continue in the city throughout till Wednesday, July 10.
Meanwhile, the weather bureau has placed the Thane, Raigad, Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri districts of Konkan Maharashtra under yellow alert till next Wednesday, July 17.
