Political Deadlock Over CM Post Delays Ladki Bahin Yojana, Raises Concerns Among Women
The government formation remains stalled as the Mahayuti alliance struggles to decide on the Chief Minister’s position, despite holding a clear majority. While leaders insist there’s no internal conflict, the delay continues. The Chief Minister’s swearing-in ceremony is reportedly planned for December 2, but the uncertainty has raised concerns about the Ladki Bahin Yojana.
Eknath Shinde has promised to deposit ₹2,100 into women’s accounts. However, important details such as eligibility criteria, whether the benefit will be universal, and the start date for payments remain unclear.
The sixth installment of the scheme is expected to be credited in early December, but the ongoing political deadlock has left many women worried about whether the funds will be transferred on time.
Additionally, there are talks of tightening the eligibility rules. Previously, the scheme offered benefits universally, but the revised criteria may make it harder for some women to qualify.
