Raghu, a key member of Team India’s support staff, was stopped by the police outside the Radisson Hotel, where the team was staying. The officers mistook him for a fan and initially didn’t allow him inside.
A viral video on social media shows Raghu trying to explain who he is. Meanwhile, someone recording the incident shouted, “He’s a coach, part of the team! He just got off the bus.” After a short conversation, the police realized their mistake and let him enter, but the mix-up left them embarrassed.
Who is Raghu?
Raghu is an important part of Team India’s support staff. He specializes in throwdowns, helping batsmen practice different types of deliveries, including fast balls, spin, and bouncers. His skills help players prepare for real match situations.
Originally, Raghu dreamed of becoming a professional cricketer, but a hand injury made him shift to coaching. His exceptional throwdowns, reaching speeds over 150 km/h, got him noticed in Karnataka cricket. His big break came when Sachin Tendulkar recommended him for Team India’s support staff, making him an essential part of the team’s training.
