Bollywood’s Top-Earning Actor Made ₹275 Crore from One Film

Aamir Khan, one of Bollywood’s biggest stars, earned a massive ₹275 crore from his blockbuster film Dangal. Released in December 2016, Dangal became a global sensation, especially in China, where it made ₹1300 crore, boosting Aamir’s earnings significantly.

In India, the film earned over ₹500 crore, with an additional ₹100 crore from international markets during its initial release. Sales of satellite and digital rights added ₹420 crore in profits, out of which Aamir earned ₹140 crore. Later, a profit share of $15 million (₹100 crore) pushed his total earnings from Dangal to ₹275 crore—the highest ever for an Indian actor.

Before Dangal, Aamir was already a trendsetter at the box office. His film Ghajini was the first to enter the ₹100-crore club in 2008, and he broke more records with hits like 3 Idiots, PK, and Dhoom 3, crossing ₹400 crore and ₹600 crore benchmarks.

Although Aamir leads in Bollywood, Allu Arjun is currently India’s highest-paid actor. He is expected to earn ₹300 crore for his upcoming movie Pushpa 2.

Aamir’s success with Dangal shows why he remains one of the most iconic names in Bollywood.
