IRCTC Teams Up with Swiggy for Onboard Meal Delivery ; Check Details
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has joined hands with Swiggy to make it easier for passengers to get their pre-booked meals delivered right to their train seats via the corporation’s e-catering portal.
Initially, this service will be available at railway stations in Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam. However, there are plans to expand to more stations in the future.
This collaboration is part of IRCTC’s efforts to improve services and offer a wider variety of food choices to railway travelers. Previously, IRCTC had partnered with Zomato for food delivery at specific stations like New Delhi, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Varanasi.
Swiggy’s entry into the railway catering sector is expected to take advantage of the large number of passengers traveling by train in India. This move will not only benefit passengers but also contribute to the growth of Swiggy’s food delivery business.
Meanwhile, Swiggy is preparing for its Initial Public Offering (IPO) launch, with an ambitious target valuation of $11 billion and plans to raise an estimated ₹8,300 crore in funds in 2024.
