Mauritius Invites Retirees Aged 50+ to Enjoy a Peaceful Island Life
Retirement marks an important phase in life, often seen as a well-earned reward after years of hard work and dedication. After decades of managing responsibilities, meeting deadlines, and pursuing goals, many look forward to a time of relaxation and enjoying life’s pleasures. Retirement is a chance to follow passions, try new hobbies, and spend quality time with loved ones.
For many, it’s not just the end of a career but the start of a new adventure. It’s an opportunity to travel, volunteer, or simply enjoy a slower pace of life. The freedom to wake up without a strict work schedule is exciting, and now that dream can become reality with an invitation from the president of Mauritius.
In a recent Instagram video, influencer Aija Mayrock shared a message from President Dharambeer Gokhool, encouraging people aged 50 and above to consider retiring in Mauritius. This beautiful island is an ideal retirement spot, offering stunning beaches, lush greenery, and a rich culture.
President Gokhool highlighted the country’s warm hospitality, inviting retirees to “pack their bags” and embrace the charm of Mauritius. This initiative aims to attract foreign retirees and enhance local culture. With its affordability, safety, and natural beauty, Mauritius is a perfect choice for those dreaming of a peaceful island retirement.
How to Qualify for Residency as a Retired Non-Citizen (Aged 50+)
To qualify for residency in Mauritius, retirees must provide a certified bank statement from their home country or current residence. This statement should show either a minimum balance of $18,000 (around Rs 15,58,254) or a guaranteed monthly income of $1,500 (around Rs 1,29,854).
The entire application process can be done online without visiting Mauritius. Through the National Electronic Licensing System, applicants can submit their details and receive approval letters. To ensure security and identification, users need to register on the platform before starting the process.
