Navi Mumbai residents faced 24-hour power outages due to heavy rains
Thousands of consumers were inconvenienced with frequent power cuts

Due to incessant rainfall across the city and its suburbs in the last few days, parts of Navi Mumbai experienced severe power outages on Sunday, July 21, and Monday, July 22.
Owing to the torrential rains, transformers, feeder boxes, and underground cables malfunctioned. Thousands of consumers were inconvenienced with frequent power cuts which lasted upto 24 hours.
Residents in areas such as Rabale, Airoli, Digha, Ghansoli, and Turbhe faced prolonged power cuts, some lasting up to 24 hours, starting from Saturday night, July 20.
MSEDCL officials said multiple problems cropped up with the heavy downpour. According to authorities, supply was restored in all areas that were facing problems by 1:30 pm on Monday.
Explaining further, officials said their field engineers worked to identify and repair the issues, with the major problem originating from the Kalwa dispatch station. They had to divert the supply and repair the line to restore power to the affected areas.
