A technical problem near Borivali station on Monday morning caused disruptions to local services on the Western line, but everything is back to normal now. Train services from platform no.1 and 2 at Borivali station resumed at 12:05 hrs and 13:30 hrs respectively after the issue was fixed. The problem was caused by a cable being cut, resulting in point failure near the busy Borivali station during the busy morning hours.
Around 2:00 am at Borivali, a cable cutting issue was discovered, causing signal failure and the suspension of suburban train operations from platforms 1 and 2 at Borivali Station. However, trains continued to run from platforms 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
The problem was resolved, and train operations from platform 1 resumed at 12:05 hrs. Approximately 40 scheduled train services were cancelled, but extra local trains were deployed to assist passengers.
Western Railway provided an update on X, stating that due to technical issues involving cable cutting, points 107/108, 111/112 and 131/132 are currently non-operational. As a result, suburban train services are suspended from platforms 1 and 2 at Borivali Station.
However, trains continue to operate from platforms 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. Restoration work is underway with priority to normalise the situation, including clamping of points 107, 108 and 111.
