A video of Sowmya Janu insulting and shredding the clothes of a traffic police officer who stopped her for driving on the wrong side of the road has appeared online. According to a DNA report, the incident occurred when the Telugu actor drove her Jaguar in the wrong direction in Hyderabad’s Banjara Hills.

Telugu star Sowmya Janu was allegedly stopped by a traffic police official who was on duty. According to the DNA report, the event occurred on February 24. Despite spectators’ attempts to interfere, the actor reportedly continued to verbally harass the traffic police official and even physically assaulted him; Sowmya also tore his clothes and stole his phone.

According to the portal, the traffic police official filed a complaint with the Banjara Hills police station, detailing the occurrence and providing evidence in the form of a video of Sowmya Janu. According to reports, the police have filed a case and are investigating the situation.

The Telugu actor is facing heat on social media after a video surfaced of her beating a police officer in Hyderabad. A user wrote on X, “In the video, she (Sowmya Janu) is admitting that she was driving in the wrong direction, but still she is defending her action.” Reacting to the video, an X user wrote, “Really Sowmya? Driving the wrong way in a Jaguar? Can’t be defending that! Safety first.” One more said, “Legal action should be taken.”

Another user said, “Typical Indian mentality… every one else is not following rules, so why should I follow? Taking bribes, ditching traffic rules… everywhere it is the same story.” Another tweeted, “This is by no means acceptable.”
