“On Monday at 10.20 a.m., a little fire broke out at the Akashdeep building in the Andheri neighbourhood of Four Bungalows. The fire in the common metre box was put out by 10.40 a.m.” said the firefighters who were present on the site of the incident. They are still investigating more to know about the cause of the fire.
On the other hand, residents have been complaining for years now to get a Fire Station at Andheri West. After repeated complaints, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has finally moved the file and assured that within the next two years, they will get their own Fire Station. Despite the civic body’s assurance, residents feel sceptical as the officials are just taking a follow up on the situation for over a decade and the fire station construction at Veera Desai Road has still not started.
