Amit Banerji, Founder and CEO of Table Space, Passes Away at 45 Due to Cardiac Arrest
Amit Banerji, the founder, chairman, and CEO of Table Space, a managed workspace provider, passed away on Monday morning at the age of 45 due to a cardiac arrest. In a statement, the Bengaluru-based company praised his leadership, which played a key role in shaping Table Space into what it is today.
Banerji founded Table Space in 2017 after a 13-year career at Accenture, where he managed the company’s office space portfolio in India and specialized in corporate real estate. His sudden passing comes shortly after the death of Rohan Mirchandani, co-founder of Epigamia, who also died of a cardiac arrest at 42.
Banerji earned a B.Tech in Computer Science from Punjab Technical University in 2002. He started his career at Accenture in 2004, gaining experience in real estate planning, acquisitions, deal structuring, finance, and operations. This experience inspired him to start Table Space with seven co-founders: Karan Chopra (Vice-chairman and CIO), Kunal Mehra (President), Srinivas Prasad (Chief Strategy Officer), Krishnaswamy Nagarajan (COO and CEO of Table Space Services), Anurag Tyagi (CEO of Table Space Constructions), Nitish Bhasin (Chief Sales Officer), and Anamika Gupta (Executive Director of Sales).
Banerji was known for his expertise in structuring SEZ (Special Economic Zone) deals, completing over 10 million square feet of such projects. He also held a patent for inventions related to systems and technology integration.
Amit Banerji’s contributions to the company and the industry have left a lasting impact. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and employees.
