Elon Musk, the richest person in the world, recently said he’s making a new email service to compete with Gmail by Google.

This news came after Nathan McGrady, a senior person on the Security Engineering team at X, which is a social media platform owned by Musk, asked when XMail would be out. Musk didn’t give a specific date but just said, “It’s coming,” which got people talking about what his new email service might be like.

Even though we don’t know much about XMail yet, some people think it might focus on giving better privacy, quicker delivery, and a simpler design. Musk’s announcement comes at a time when there are rumors that Google might close down Gmail on August 1, but Google said on X that “Gmail is here to stay.”

Musk is already working on other things like online payments and video calls, and now he’s stepping into the world of email services.
