Bharatiya Janata Party MLC Prasad Lad filed a complaint with the Sion Police on March 3, stating that he got a death threat from an unknown caller. He alleged that the caller used abusive words and said would kill him. The police registered a non-cognizable complaint against the caller.

Prasad Lad said he was sitting in his Sion office on March 2 when he got the call. He asked the caller to calm down but the caller kept abusing him.

Earlier in August 2023, Prasad Lad informed Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar that he had received death threats. He further stated that he alerted the Khar (East) police about the situation. Along with the letter, his team has also shared CCTV footage of the mystery man who they claim was doing the reconnaissance.
