Mumbai: The much-awaited Navi Mumbai International Airport will open in June 2025, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani announced. This is a slight delay from the earlier plan to open on April 17.

Adani shared his excitement on social media, saying, “Visited the Navi Mumbai airport site today—a world-class airport in the making. Set to open this June, it will boost connectivity and growth. A true gift to India!”

The airport is being built by Navi Mumbai International Airport Ltd (NMIAL), a partnership between Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL) and Maharashtra’s City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO). Adani holds 74% of the project, while CIDCO owns 26%.

The ₹16,700 crore project aims to reduce crowding at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and handle increasing air travel. It will have two runways and four terminals, with a capacity of 90 million passengers per year once all five phases are complete.

Earlier, in December 2024, Adani Airport Holdings Ltd CEO Arun Bansal mentioned that domestic flights could start in the second half of May 2025, followed by international flights by the end of July.

Once operational, the Navi Mumbai airport will improve travel options and boost economic growth, offering world-class services for passengers and businesses.
