Registrations for Amarnath Yatra 2025 Begin, Pilgrimage Scheduled from July 3 to August 9
Jammu and Kashmir, April 15, 2025 — The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) has officially opened registrations for the Amarnath Yatra 2025, one of the most significant annual pilgrimages in the Hindu faith. The yatra to the sacred Amarnath Cave shrine, nestled in the South Kashmir Himalayas, will be held from July 3 to August 9, 2025.
Both online and offline registration modes are being offered to facilitate participation by devotees across the country. The Shrine Board has made it mandatory for all pilgrims to complete advance registration.
Online Registration Process
Pilgrims can register through the official SASB website by following these steps:
- Click on the ‘Advance Registration’ link.
- Read and accept the terms and guidelines.
- Fill in personal details, upload a passport-sized photograph, and the Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC).
- Verify the mobile number through OTP.
- A payment link will be shared within two hours. The registration fee is approximately ₹220 per person.
- Once payment is made, the Yatra Registration Permit can be downloaded.
Offline Registration
Over 540 bank branches across India are authorized to handle offline registration. Additionally, registration centers in Jammu such as Vaishnavi Dham, Panchayat Bhawan, and Mahajan Hall are available for on-ground support.
Pilgrims will receive a token slip three days prior to their scheduled yatra date. Mandatory medical check-ups and RFID card collection must be completed at centers like Saraswati Dham before beginning the trek.
Yatra Routes and Group Bookings
The yatra can be undertaken via two routes:
- Pahalgam Route: A longer, traditional path.
- Baltal Route: A shorter but steeper option.
Group registrations for five or more pilgrims are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Important Guidelines
Do’s:
- Collect and wear the RFID card throughout the journey.
- Carry valid ID proof, preferably Aadhaar.
- Be well-prepared for extreme weather with warm clothing and rain gear.
Don’ts:
- Pilgrims without RFID cards will not be permitted to proceed.
- Consumption of alcohol, smoking, and high-caffeine drinks is strictly prohibited.
- High-altitude sickness symptoms should not be ignored.
- Pilgrims must follow environmental protocols and avoid polluting the region.
In 2024, over 3.65 lakh pilgrims participated in the Amarnath Yatra. With an even higher turnout expected this year, authorities are urging devotees to plan ahead and strictly follow safety measures.
