Watch: Singer Shaan urges Mumbaikars to prioritize voting on May 20
Renowned singer Shantanu Mukherjee, popularly known as Shaan, has called upon the citizens of Mumbai to make voting a priority on May 20, emphasizing its significance in upholding democracy.
The upcoming elections will cover all six constituencies of Mumbai city, including four constituencies within the Mumbai Suburban district, scheduled for May 20. Against the backdrop of the Lok Sabha elections, various initiatives are underway by the Mumbai Suburban Collectorate to raise awareness among voters.
As part of these efforts, a ‘Vote to Vote Rally’ was organized under the Voter Awareness and Participation (SVEEP) program in the Bandra West constituency of the Assembly, falling under the Mumbai North-Central Lok Sabha constituency. The rally commenced from R V Technical School, Ramakrishna Marg, Khar Gymkhana.
Addressing the gathering, Shaan stressed the importance of voting, referring to it as the essence of democracy. He underscored the national duty that every citizen holds to participate in the electoral process. Encouraging citizens to prioritize voting over other engagements, Shaan urged those planning to go out on May 20 to postpone their plans by a day.
Shaan’s appeal resonates with the broader effort to encourage voter turnout and civic engagement, ensuring that every eligible citizen exercises their right to vote and contributes to shaping the future of the nation.
