Pune News : Citizens & railway commuters to boycott upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Baramati & Shirur-Haveli
Several affected citizens & railway commuters say that Pune-Daund-Pune railway passengers, students, workers, traders, milk etc are suffering a lot due to the arbitrary management of the railway administration. Platform, signalling, electrification work on the Pune to Daund railway line has been completed for about eight to ten years, but since many years there has been a demand that the Pune – Daund railway line should be given the status of suburban section and EMU should be run instead of DEMU/MEMU. This demand is still pending.
As per further information from the affected citizens & railway commuters,
Due to this, an atmosphere of complete displeasure has been created among senior citizens, railway passengers, women passengers, students, traders, milk and vegetable vendors and citizens are of the demanding. that before the implementation of the code of conduct, the railway board should approve this demand and issue a notification. If this demand is not accepted before implementing code of conduct then to boycott Baramati and Shirur-Haveli polls in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Citizens have warned that due to crowding in the DEMU train, a few trips of local trains, and the train that leaves from Daund at 6:10 am is terminated till Hadapsar in the morning. Hence, the citizens are facing a lot of trouble while going to Pimpri & Chinchwad from Hadapsar station. Railway passengers have warned to boycott voting in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
If Pune to Daund Suburban EMU Local service will be operational, it will benefit thousands of passengers between Pune and Daund, Hadapsar, Manjri, Loni, Uruli railway stations, which fall under Shirur-Haveli Lok Sabha constituency, and Yavat, Khutbav, Kedgaon, Kadethan, Patas, Daund railway stations, which fall under Baramati Lok Sabha constituency.
There is a firm demand of the citizens that the Pune-Daund section should be given the status of a Suburban section and EMU should be run instead of DEMU/MEMU.
